Dedicated to the memory of Neil Jackson

This site is a tribute to Neil Jackson, who was born in Newcastle under Lyme on September 05, 1950. Neil was first and foremost all about his family. Happily married to Jan for 46 years, dad to Andy, Jono and Emma and grandad to Thomas and Leo. He was immensely proud of every one of them.

He was a dedicated Stoke City fan for 60 years but enjoyed all sports. He was passionate about all wildlife, particularly birds and he loved nothing more than watching the birds in his beautiful garden. Neil was also a successful businessman, being Managing Director of every company he ever worked at. He particularly enjoyed working as a consultant for Phillips Screw Co in recent years alongside his sons. This also allowed him to assist Emma with her athletics training and travel all over the world to proudly watch her run for Great Britain.

He was known for helping and supporting others wherever he could. Also his very quick wit and sense of humour is legendary. Neil is very much loved and will always be remembered.

Three years since you left us Neil & fittingly, just arrived in the post, is a certificate thanking us for raising over £7,500 for The Brain Tumour Charity in your memory. This amazing amount of money was donated by your family , friends & colleagues all wishing to pay their tributes to you. Absolutely brilliant for someone who was just an ordinary family guy. But as we all know Neil, you were never, ever ordinary in any aspect of your life! We all love & miss you so very much & as always will be getting together as your family to raise a glass to you. Sleep tight Neil. ❤️‍🩹Jan xxxxx

Jan

Neil, last night we had a family BBQ to celebrate Bonnie’s first birthday & someone came up with the idea to play what was number 1 in the music charts on the dates of our birth & 18th birthday. You would have loved it, there were some absolute shockers, particularly on my dates!! You, however, came out of it quite well with “Those were the Days “ by Mary Hopkin number 1 on your 18th. Had you been born 2 days later though you would have had the epic “Hey Jude” by The Beatles & I was immediately transported back to the heady days of the Newcastle A.C. coach trips! Sitting together & the whole coach load of teenagers singing along to that famous chorus of “Nah, nah, nah, na na na, nah”!! What fantastic times they were, such special memories to me now especially as it was at the athletics track that we first met. As ever, you are always included in our gatherings with much love & it never takes very much to trigger some memory or other of you. We love you so much ❤️ Jan & all the family xxx
